When to consider a replacement battery:
If you have lost the ability to connect to your awning via Bluetooth with your smart device or if your awning has stopped functioning, you may have a dead battery that needs replacement. Upon replacing the battery, check the diagnostics on the awning to ensure the battery is charging and that the awning is receiving enough sunlight to operate autonomously. The diagnostics will also help you determine if you are in need of an Auxiliary Solar Panel. With normal use, a Sol-Lux battery should last 5-10 years.
What are Lithium Iron Phosphate Batteries(LiFePO4)?:
Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries use a new type of cathode material that provides several advantages over traditional Li-ion batteries. LiFePO4 batteries provide much higher specific capacity, superior thermal and chemical stability, enhanced safety, improved cost performance, enhanced charge and discharge rates, compact size, light weight, and enhanced cycle life.
What are the advantages of Lithium Iron batteries compared to Lithium-Ion?:
Eos awning batteries have a built in PCM – what is a PCM and what does it do?
The Protection Circuit Module (PCM) regulates the output of current from the battery to the awning motor and electrical controls to maintain safe battery operation.
